Episode 9-14, "Inconceivable" (aired 1/22/08): When James is shot on the courthouse steps, the crowd of reporters that has gathered quickly scatters to escape the gunfire. One of them is a woman in a pink top, holding what appears to be a boom microphone. The camera cuts away briefly and then back to the crowd - you see the exact same people, including the woman in pink running in the exact opposite direction as before. The footage was apparently mirrored and repeated for the second shot of the fleeing crowd. See more...

Trivia

(Season 6-4 Episode: Scavenger) As the detectives are trying to find out from Doug Hutchinson's character where the victim is being held, the detectives find out he is somewhat claustrophobic. They decide to scare him and put him in a cupboard without any light. This is very similar to Doug Hutchinson's character in The Green Mile. The main characters decide to punish him and force him into a dark and small room. See more...

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) - 3 corrections

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

Entry Episode 7-21 Web: When tracking the pedophile's computer his IP number reads something like 3046.23.54.68. In reality, the highest possible IP number is 255.255.255.255 because of the way the numbers are stored on the computer. [As corrected many, many times, TV shows use fictional IP adresses.]
Entry In season 8, episode "Pretend," the doctor speaks with Olivia about how the girl is older because she doesn't have wisdom teeth and people get them when they are adults. This is what turns the investigation. Although, that is sometimes true, it is not ALWAYS true. My wisdom teeth were removed when I was 16, and I know of friends who have also had them removed before adulthood. So to base it primarily on that would not have been sound. [Yes, but since it is sometimes true, that led their investigation in another direction, and they found out she was not who she said she was. Also the doctor said she had them removed some time ago because of the way the scars had healed, so even if they where removed when she was really young, this would still prove she was older than she said she was.]
Entry At the end of the episode "Head", the female child molester reveals that she has just learned that she's pregnant with her victim's child. However, earlier in the episode (several weeks prior in the episode's time span), she underwent surgery. A Pregnancy test is part of a standard pre-op workup for all women of child-bearing age. She would have learned about her pregnancy then. Obviously, this was altered for the "end of the episode" dramatic effect. [Not necessarily, I underwent surgery and as long as I signed a paper saying I was sure I wasn't pregnant, they went ahead with the surgery.]
