In the episode in which the climax is the discovery of the woman's body in the boot of the car, you can see that Kim and her boyfriend have been lain down on the dust by the cop and Megan is leaning out of the car door crying, then we cut to the three second count door. Then at the very beginning of the next episode, supposedly three seconds after that layout, suddenly Kim and her boyfriend have been moved to two separate cars and the cop who had them at gunpoint is kneeling down talking to Megan, who has also jumped into a police car. [There is a three second count down at the end of every episode. However, the next episode (in this case, it starts at 3pm, I think) actually starts where the 24 logo flashes up on screen and continues past the "previously on 24" part. The part where Kim, Miguel and Megan are in the cop car is actually about 2 minutes into that episode... plenty of time to move around as shown.]

Chappelle shows Jack the security footage of him shooting Nina. He shoots her three times. He fires the gun with more of a gap between the gunshots on the footage than he did when we saw him kill her. See more...

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

The fact that Nina was a double agent brings up a lot of inconsistencies. Like why would she pressure Jack about the keycard if she was in on it with Gaines. And Why did she reveal Jamey as the dirty agent if she recruited her in the first place. Also why did Gaines order Jack to kill Nina if if they were working together? [The reason is that the identity of the mole was up in the air until towards the end of the series - still a mistake though]. [I don't think Nina was involved with Gaines, or at least, Gaines didn't have any knowledge of Nina's involvement with Drazen. I think Nina would only be called upon if Drazen thought it was necessary. He probably made it clear to Nina to act as she would normally, unless she was required to do something for them. And, there was no proof put forward in the series that Nina recruited Jamey. But, even if she did, it would be the perfect motive to kill her.]
When the series was shown on the U.K., all references that "events occur in real-time" were omitted, as the BBC does not have adverts during or between programs. The only exceptions are the first few episodes of series 1 (probably because no-one realised it wasn't accurate), and the first episode of series 2, shown without adverts in the US and hence a full real-time hour in both countries. [Not quite true. Although the first episode of season two in the USA was shown without commercial interruption, there were long Ford ads before AND after the episode and a promo for "John Doe" and scenes for the next episode making it 51:43. A shorter version shown in reruns is 43:56. See http://www.tv.com/24/day-2-800-a.m.-900-a.m./episode/161143/trivia.html]
In the "1pm - 2pm" episode of Season Three, Jack and Chase arrive at the prison where Salazar is being held. Jack is scanned by security and his profile is displayed on a monitor indicating he has been cleared by security. The picture in the profile shows Jack wearing the exact same clothes that he has on now. The producers of the show probably took this picture while the episode was being filmed and used it as his profile. [It is probably just an unlikely if possible coincidence that he is wearing the same outfit when he is checked by security that he wore when his profile was updated. Most people don't discard their clothes after wearing them once.]
Season 4 and Season 5 are set 18 months apart (a year and a half). It is summer in Season 4, which indicates it will be Winter in Season 5, but it is still the Summer. [The show takes place in Los Angeles. It is winter right now, and it's been very sunny during this time. We've only had rain two times this year, and it's been around 60ºF and above, up to almost 80ºF.]
Season Five, episode 12: Chloe confirms that all rooms have been sealed off, yet in the following shot we see Henderson (and I think Tony as well) being rolled into their room which has yet to be sealed. [No, the rooms that were sealed off were the Situation Room, the Holding Cell (Where Lynn and the guard were), the room where Bill was, and CTU Medical. CTU Medical has several rooms, Tony being in one and Henderson in another.]
11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight (series 1)
In this episode we find out Nina is the mole but in one of the first episodes, the kidnappers ordered Jack to shoot Nina, which he did, though unbeknownst to them, he had previously put a bullet-proof vest on her. If she was their insider, why would they order her shot? [There were two moles inside CTU - Jamey Farrell and Nina Myers. It was Jamey who worked for Gaines (in the first half the season), whereas Nina worked for the Drazens directly. Gaines (who ordered Nina to be shot) had no idea that she was also an insider. It's doubtful that Drazen would reveal their 'contacts' identities to anyone - even Gaines.]
10:00 P.M.-11:00 P.M. (series 1)
In the first series, the terrorists give Jack a telephone and ask him to kill the senator before they'll tell him where Kim is. They tell him they'll ring that phone at exactly 10:45pm. When Jack gets to the senators suites it's around 10:20pm, the terrorists telephone shortly after he arrives. For all they know he could still be en route to the hotel so why were they so quick off the mark? [It's actually about 10:30 or so. And the Drazens know Jack, and they know he'll do anything to save Kim, so they're certain that Jack will be with Palmer when they call.]
If the movie Air Force One can be a guide, it was impossible for Mitch Anderson to shoot down the president's plane this easily. Air Force One has countermeasures to elude missiles targeting it and this is now shown in the show. Also, once the President found out about the imminent attack on Air Force One he would have been escorted to his escape pod. [The movie Air Force One is not a good guide. It has been stated many times that the plane does not have an escape pod in real life.]
7:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. (series 1)
In the 7:00PM - 8:00PM episode, Tony goes to Jack's house to rescue Jack's wife. He arrives 5 minutes after a scene where he is seen talking to Mason at CTU. In the first episode Jack calls CTU from his cell phone saying that he is en route and gives his ETA as 20 minutes. This is also confirmed in the 8:00PM - 9:00PM episode where Tony calls CTU and tells them that he has Jack's wife and is enroute back to CTU, and should arrive in 20 minutes. [Despite the estimate, he arrives at CTU less than 5 minutes after leaving his house.]
5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. (series 1)
Before Frank arrives, Kim asks Rick if she can borrow his car. But, as revealed in the pilot, Kim doesn't even have her license yet, and California law requires anyone with a learner's permit to have a licensed driver over the age of 25 with them. [Do you really think that after everything she's been going through, plus on the edge of a drug deal she wants no part of, is worried about having a driver over 25 with her?]
11:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon (series 1)
Eli asks Rick, "Who was that guy I talked to? It was her father, wasn't it?" In the previous episode, Jack says, "I'm the last thing you will ever see if anything happens to my wife or my daughter." You'd think Eli would have registered what Jack said. [Eli not registering what Jack said or putting those two things together is only because of his own stupidity. Character flaws are not plot holes.]
9:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M. (series 1)
Jack is on the phone with his wife and daughter, while CTU listens and tries to trace the call. When Eli enters the room where the women are being held, Jack tells CTU to mute the line so Eli can't hear them. When Eli finds the phone, he asks "who is this?". Jack responds with a threat that scares Eli into hanging up the phone. If the phone was muted, Eli shouldn't have been able to hear Jack. [As we find out later, Nina is in fact Yelena and is working for them, so she might not have muted the phone for the sole purpose of Eli finding it.]
7:00 A.M.-8:00 A.M. (series 1)
Between 7:00a.m. and 8:00a.m., Nina and Tony use a room in CTU headquarters which they both agree does not have cameras in it. They use this room to interrogate Jamie about her involvement with Ira Gaines. However, when Jack is racing back to CTU between 11:00p.m. and midnight, he tracks down the camera footage from the room, even though it had none there in the first place. [The camera footage that Bauer sees is from a secret camera that Nina and Tony do not know about, if you listen Jack has to use his passcode to gain access.] [Nina does indeed know there is a camera present. It is stated that the tape was deleted (presumably by her) and she is even seen looking up at it. Jack needs his code to access the back-up copy, which wasn't deleted.]
In the scene where Jack Bauer is at the medical station giving the gun to the photographer, as the photographer leaves, Jack pulls a gun and holds it to the photographer's head. He cocks the gun manually, but when going to decock it, instead of pressing the decock lever, he pulls the trigger and eases the hammer down. A gun expert such as Jack would know about the decock lever, and not make that mistake. [He achieved his goal and it's pure speculation about whether he did it in the 'correct' way or not.]
6:00 A.M.-7:00 A.M. (series 1)
At about 6:10 or 6:11, after Teri gets out of "Alan"'s car and runs up the hill, Alan pulls the keys out and opens the door while the car is still beeping. The beeping should have stopped when he took the keys out of the ignition. [The beeping doesn't start when he pulls out the keys, but when he openes the door. When he closes it, the beeping stops. This means it is the warning that the lights aren't turned off.]
5:00 A.M.-6:00 A.M. (series 1)
When Gaines is calling Jack, he uses a headset. Jack wants to talk with Kimberly, Gains holds the micro in front of Kimberley's mouth, but he didn't give her the earpiece. How could she be able to hear Jacks question if she is fine? [The earpiece is very close, apparently close enough for her to hear the question.]
4:00 A.M.-5:00 A.M. (series 1)
1:00 A.M.-2:00 A.M. (series 1)
On the roof Walsh guesses that he and Jack are surrounded by two shooters at least - but they are standing upright at the edge of the roof for seconds. Shouldn't they duck for cover? [Walsh was referring to inside the building. They met on the roof because it would be safe because the "two" shooters were inside. So they didn't need to worry about ducking for cover; until they stepped back in that is.]
