In the scene where Steve hands Ponyboy the newspaper with the article of them after the fire, you see the three boys' pictures. The newspaper couldn't have had these pictures, because Ponyboy appeared in the picture as clean and blonde. Johnny appears clean and unburnt. Even if they did take them at the hospital, Ponyboy would be dirty because he never cleaned his face, and Johnny would be severely burnt (as there were even burns on his neck) and certainly wouldn't be wearing his jean jacket. And Dallas was fully clothed in the picture, even though he wasn't whenever they pulled him in: he had no clothes on, and who would get dressed for a picture? [They were obviously older pictures...probably from school.]

In the drive-in scene where Ponyboy and Cherry get up to get popcorn and soda, Ponyboy leaves with the popcorn Dallas gave him. They both purchase more popcorn and soda in the snack bar yet when they return to their seats, Ponyboy only has the popcorn he left with and Cherry has nothing. See more...
Trivia
The scene where Dallas tips over in the chair at the drive-in was not scripted, that is actually a blooper they decided to leave in the final film. See more...

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

In the scene when Johnny has just returned to the church with the groceries, he sets the box on the table and it makes a loud "THUNK". Immediately after that, he sets a loaf of bread on the table and it makes the same sound. If they had tried to eat that it would have broken their teeth. [What you're hearing is the cans inside the bag falling over after he pulls the bread out.]
In the Scene where Johnny and Ponyboy are at the park and Bob Sheldon (the soc with the rings) throws whatever liquor he was drinking in Ponyboy's face in the next shot that we see of Pony boy he is perfectly dry and he didn't wipe himself off. [The guy never really threw it on his face because he was too drunk to have a good aim and if you look close enough you can see it hit his armpit instead.]
When Ponyboy is in the park with Johnny and they are going to sleep, you see something that looks like a mole on Ponyboy's neck; but sometimes it's there, and sometimes it's not. [It is always there. It is just hard to see sometimes because it is in the back of his chin, and you can't see it that well when he is standing up.]
At the Curtis' house (Sodapop, Darry, and Ponyboy), every time the gate to the fence opens, a dog down the street barked as if on cue. The dog wouldn't bark until the gate opened, and stopped barking as soon as it closed. [The dog doesn't bark on cue. Sometimes when it shows the gate of the boys house, the dog randomly barks, but definitely not on cue.]
In the scene after Ponyboy returns home, the gang of guys is hanging around in the house eating chocolate cake and beer. When Emilio Estevez sits down and begins to watch Mickey Mouse, the show is in color. A desperately poor family in the 1960s would never have a color television. [The house and all of the belongings were their parents'.]
In the scene where they have the big rumble, the two gangs are fighting, and when it begins to rain the ground gets very muddy, and everyone is covered in mud, but there is one kid that goes to run away with completely clean white pants. [The reason the one kid has completely white pants, is he's the 'toughest' of the rich kids. It's intended to show that he wasnt knocked down into the mud, until the very end of the fight, when Daryl knocks him down, and he does get mud into his clothes then, just not on his backside.]
