There are two scenes in this movie where a man almost gets hit, first by a knife in the O'Connell's home, and the other in the museum, where he is shot at by a shot gun. In both scenes it's the same man, and he gives a kind of smug look before diving out the way to let someone else get hit. Any significance in this actor always surviving? [Seeing as people almost get killed in just about every action movie, it's highly unlikely that there is any special siginificance to it here.]

When Rick and Ardeth are saving Evie from the library Ardeth manages to shoot the chemicals and blow them up. When you see him shoot them from Ardeth's view Imhotep has disappeared, as he was standing next to the chemicals before they were shot. See more...

The scene where Imhotep is resurrecting the Scorpion King, he is hitting a big gong. A bald guy, in a loin cloth, hitting a big gong...this is a nod to the opening title of any 'Rank' picture. See more...

Where exactly did the Spear of Osiris come from? Did Rick/Evy find it with their loot in "Mummy one", or did they get it elsewhere? [I don't believe it is verbally revealed in the film, but since Jonathan enters the movie with it in his hand, you can assume he got it at some point between the two movies.]
How did Rick got the tattoo on his arm in the first place and how did he know the reply for the riddle given by Ardeth? [Both of these are answered in the movie themselves. He got the Tattoo several years earlier, when he was drunk. He was not sure how or why he knew the answer to the riddle (notice his confused expression when he said it).]
Why is the CGI at the end (the Scorpion King, mainly) so poor in comparison to the rest of the film? The Anubis creatures, etc. are all great, but the appearance of the big bad guy looks noticeably less polished. Any specific reason, or is it just one of those things? [Reportedly they simply ran out of time. Stephen Sommers, the director, was really quite embarrassed by it.]
