Carla Jean Moss: I got a bad feeling, Llewelyn.
Llewelyn Moss: Well I got a good feeling, so that should even out.
Trivia
The credited editor for this film, Roderick Jaynes, is a pseudonym for Joel and Ethan Coen, who have co-edited all of their movies since Blood Simple (1984), (in addition to co-directing and co-writing them). New York magazine reported that they devised the pseudonym when Guild membership rules would not allow two co-credited editors on the same film. Despite his non-existence, Jaynes was nominated for an Oscar for editing No Country for Old Men (2007) (as well as Fargo (1996)), but he has never won one. Joel Coen told New York magazine that if Jaynes had won the Oscar, the award presenter and not the Coens would have been the one authorized by the Academy to accept the award on "his" behalf. Joel Coen explained that the Academy doesn't "allow proxies to accept awards at the Academy Awards, ever since Marlon Brando and Sacheen Littlefeather." See more...
Factual error: The glass milk jar in the Moss trailer that various characters drink from is labeled Promised Land Dairy. Although the movie is set in and around 1980, Promised Land Dairy didn't start producing milk products until around 1990 (http://www.promisedlanddairy.com/web-content/Our%20History.html).
Continuity: When Chigurh places his handcuffs around the police officer's neck to choke him, the handcuffs are more like manacles and contain 7 or 8 links between the cuffs. When he goes to wash the blood off of his wrists and drops the handcuffs in the sink, they are much smaller, containing only 3 links between the cuffs.
Continuity: When Chigurh enters the hotel room and encounters the Mexicans, he shoots the guy on the bed. He then shoots the wall next to the TV. The bullet holes on the wall are behind the TV. The TV does not receive any damage from the gun blast. The angle is such that it looks like the TV should have been damaged by the bullets.
Factual error: The laws of physics dictate that for any action there is an equal opposite reaction. Anton Chigurh uses a high powered air gun that defies the laws of physics. It fires a powerful enough blast to blow out the cylinder of a lock. There should be a powerful kickback. The lack of a kickback is most obvious in the scene where he shoots the motorist in the head with it, and his hand moves forward with the blast.
Factual error: In the desert "drug deal gone bad" scene, the red Ford Bronco has a blue oval in the grill. Ford did not start using blue ovals in the F-series until 1981. The movie was set in early 1980, per Agnes' tombstone, and 1981-model production didn't begin until August 1980. Further, the truck shown is modified, battered and rusty - certainly aged and well-used.
