Continuity: When Peter is onboard Hook's ship fighting with a pirate below deck, he runs behind a very large globe and then pushes a large statue forward, trapping the pirate. Between shots as Peter does this the position of the large globe beside him completely changes (the curved wooden part and the actual globe, which has rotated itself).
Hook (1991) - 101 mistakes
Directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Dustin Hoffman, Julia Roberts, Maggie Smith, Robin Williams (add more)
Revealing: In one shot when a group of the Lost Boys are catapulted up into the air so that they can land on the side of Captain Hook's pirate ship, when they all hit the wooden pillared side it can clearly be seen to bounce as they land on it. It is possible to give some leeway on their weight making some effect - but not so much as to make the wood 'bounce' like it is made of soft material.
Continuity: When the Lost Boys bring the large black pot over to the dinner table and set it down in front of Peter, in the first shot it sits nice and flat on the table, but in the next shot it is sitting wonky, with a plate half-under it. In the next shot it is back to its original position. Additionally the items around the pot differ.
Continuity: When Smee gives Hook his nightcap drink, Hook takes it in his hand and holds it at the top of the goblet so that it is hidden under his hand. But in the very next shot he is holding it by the handle and the whole goblet is now visible with a small black umbrella sticking out the top. Additionally, the position of the small umbrella that sits in the goblet changes a few times.
Continuity: When Hook is sitting in his chair with the vanity tables at either side of him (with several mirrors on each table), we can see that there are two pots on each vanity table. Each pot has a small grey powder-ball sitting on top of it, which has red ribbons attached to it. During the scene the balls/ribbons differ in position and then at the very end of the scene (when Hook begins laughing at his plan to make Jack and Maggie love him) both of the grey powder balls have vanished.
Continuity: When Peter is fighting Hook in front of the crocodile clock, he uses his sword tip to fling the pirate-hat and its wig attachment off of Hook's head and it flies over and lands on one of the Lost Boys heads. When it lands on his head it is wonky. But in the next shot it is sitting on his head perfectly straight and is then wonky again in the next shot.
Continuity: When Peter is carrying his children away from Hook's ship to leave Neverland, Hook starts running after him, threatening to always "leave daggers with notes bearing the name Hook" and then he stops at the top of the ramp. In the closeup he is waving his hooked hand as he shouts after Peter, but in the next shot he is waving his left hand forward, holding his sword outwards.
Revealing: Many times during the film when characters are flying, it is clear that they are flying on a harness due to their stiff, rigid movement and also due to the bulkiness that will suddenly appear on their back. It is especially noticeable at the end when Tootles sprinkles the faerie dust over himself and flies out the nursery window.
Continuity: At the end of the movie when Peter crawls into Nana's doghouse to greet her (after returning from Neverland) he shakes the doghouse a little as he crawls in, causing snow to fall of its roof, which lands in the two dogbowls next to it. But in the next shot the dogbowls are now empty with no snow in them and also there is a long bone sticking out one of the bowls too.
Continuity: When Peter flies up to find Tinkerbell in her lantern house, after he opens up the clock-face door and starts asking her what's wrong, as the scene progresses, Tink's arms keep moving from either being up by her face, to in her lap - and then when she turns around to face Peter, the position of her hands change from where they rest on her legs/knees.
Continuity: When Smee is bent over at the water tank that has Hook's toy ships in it, in one shot as we see the shot with Hook's back facing the camera, Smee's bandana ties both hang in front of his shoulder. In the following shot the ties are now differently positioned, with one folded back over his shoulder.
Continuity: When Peter walks into the clearing at the Lost Boys hideout, he walks forward and steps his left leg into a vine tip which is laying on the floor. This causes the vine to wrap around his ankle and pull him up into the air. However as he is pulled up, the vine is now wrapped around his RIGHT leg.
