The aliens can bring Eric back from the dead, but they can't repair his spinal cord? [I see your point, but the actor (Jade Calegory) was only pretending to be dead. In real life, however, Jade has spina bifida, and actually needed the wheelchair. There wasn't any way to change that for the movie.]
