Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.
When the boys are driving the Volvo to Detroit the drivers' side window is open then every other shot it is closed. It is open and closed about six times in 30 seconds. [In the film it appears as 60 seconds, but there are time lapses between shots, it is not one continuous scene. Filmmakers don't show the times where there is nothing happening during the trip.]
In the convenience store scene, Trip is leafing through a copy of the Marvel Comics KISS Super Special comic that he picked up off a comic rack. This comic came out in summer 1976. By the time the movie is set, (1978) there would be no way a copy would be on a news-stand for a few reasons: The print run sold out, so no copies would have been left over. By this time, all copies were safely tucked away in the hands of collectors. No retailer keeps old issues on the news-stand, even if 'a' were not true. This comic was magazine sized and was merchandised on magazine racks, not comic racks. [The print run selling out only means that all copies have been purchased or reported as destroyed. Once a retailer purchases the magazine it is considered sold until it is either returned or the cover is sent back to the publisher for refund of an unsold item. Not all retailers are diligent about keeping their magazine, or other reading material current. Since this convenience store obviously employs some people with not a lot of ambition or customer oriented workers, it is more than possible that the stock is old, and not rotated properly. This can be seen by the October 1977 Hustler magazine being displayed behind the sales clerk's head when Trip first enters the store and greets her.]
When Jam gets dropped off at the parochial school, Father McNulty assures him he will be punished for the slightest "digression". The proper word in this context would have been "transgression". [To me it sounds like he says "transgression", but regardless, "digression" would not be the wrong word either, as in Jam will be punished if he digresses from the behaviour he is supposed to be doing. Finally, even if he said digression in the wrong context, Father McNulty is not the sharpest tool in the shed, and it would be a character mistake, not a movie mistake.]
