When the white Mini jumps into the subway, it nicks the train and lands. A few seconds later Napster stops the train perfectly in front of the opening so the motorcycle can't get in. Seeing the speed that the train was going and how long it took Napster to react, the front of the train should have been much farther through the tunnel. [The train had nearly stopped anyway, so it's entirely plausible that it stopped where it did.]

The dam they crash the van into to escape being shot to bits by Steve is hundreds of feet tall on the dry side - but the van settles to the bottom of the lake about twenty feet below the surface, up against the dam wall. [There is a dam planned on the river going through my town. It has a waterfall that will be blocked if the dam goes through. If this occurs, there will be a drop of about 100 feet on the dry side, and only about 12 feet on the river side. This is because the dam will be built on the cliff that the waterfall comes down. The dam in the movie is in the mountains, and it is possible that the dam was built with a similar plan.]

When Charlize Theron is in her hotel room, Mark Wahlberg knocks on the door and walks right in without either waiting for her to open the door and without a key apparent in his hand. Most, if not all hotel room doors lock automatically and cannot be left unlocked. Even the best lockpicker would take a few seconds to get it open. [There is no way of telling how much time elapsed between when Mark Wahlberg knocked on the door and when it cut to Charlize Theron.]

In the scene where Mark Wahlberg is shooting hoops after the Charlize Theron and Ed Norton date, Mark has the ball in his right hand, then Napster throws him another ball and the ball that was in his right hand disappears. [Mark does have the ball in his hands, but he throws it away to the hoop, next shot he actually asks the Napster to throw the ball back to him and then he throws it away to the hoop before the scene ends.]

In a deleted scene entitled "Left Ear gets stuck in traffic", you can see the steel tow rope wire attached to the car, obviously making it jerk about. [Deleted scenes are often presented 'as filmed' - i.e. without special effects and so on. Had the scene made it into the film, the wire would have been digitally removed, but there would be no point in spending money on a scene that wasn't to be included in the final version of the film. As such, this cannot be considered a mistake.]

When Charlie is calling out the brick count to Napster from the subway, he describes it as being "13 across, 4 high, 4 deep". The bricks appear to be 2 deep in the safe (13x4x2), so he could just be lumping two shelves together, which works(13x4x4 = 13x4x2x2). The problem is that when the camera pans down there are 3 shelves in the safe. This means that there are more than the 208 bricks that Napster announces. [If you look closely, it is 4 deep. However it is darker deeper into the safe and creates the illusion that there is less gold than there is.]

When Steve goes to the diamond store to trade his gold for money for the second time in the movie, he knocks on the garage door. As the camera zooms out of his face, you can see a person moving in the background. He is hiding behind a barrel and carrying a camera. He is really easy to spot, as lots of movement is present. [The man in the background is a homeless person, and it is not a camera that he is holding, it is a beer bottle. ]

When the three armoured trucks are entering Steve's house, you can see that all three are white. Later, when you get a shot from the helicopter, two of them are black and one is white. finally, while they are driving, you see a shot where they are all white again. [In the chopper shot, the two trucks aren't black, they are just in the tree's shadow.]

After dropping the armored car containing the gold through the street, they discover that the safe has been switched to a model with a glass part that, if broken, with cause steel rods to spring into place, locking the safe closed. They all worry about that, but they shouldn't. After all, it didn't break when dropped forty feet in the armored car, as you can tell when they actually open the safe. [Yes, it didnt' break, however, maybe they were just lucky in that department. Also, the drop may have made it more brittle which is why it "cracked" when Stella was drilling it. I have dropped a pane of glass that didn't break, but then as soon as I tried to fit it into something, it cracked.]

When they drive the Minis out of the tunnel, the backs of them go up, making the cars drive on their front wheels. However, there are 800 kilograms of gold in the back of each car. Therefore, the backs of the Minis would not go up. In fact, they would be so heavy that they couldn't drive very fast at all. [Charlie hired Wrench to fix that problem. He tells Wrench that the three Minis need to carry up to 2700 pounds of cargo with enough suspension and horsepower to outrun anything chasing them (in this case, Steve). Wrench was able to remove the smog controls and 200 pounds of body fat, while retaining everything else.]

When in the subway, the cars speed up to be able to get on to the tracks in front of the train. The cars come onto the platform straight alongside the subway train. The cars are going at, say, 40 MPH (probable), and the "entering speed" of a subway train (at a station) is not more than 45 MPH. The train also slows down to stop before the platform ends. The subway's speed is also decreasing all the time (as it brakes to stop), and the drivers of the cars are most probably trying to increase their speed. The cars could outrun the train and make it on to the tracks with a quite large margin. [The train might not have been stopping at that station. Isn't that why Napster stopped it for them?]

After the armoured truck falls through the pavement down to the subway tunnel, the mini coopers are covered in dirt and dust from the explosion. Then in the chase scene to Union Station they are all very clean again. [After going through the tunnel, the Minis land in plenty of water to wash them off.]

You can see the tyre tracks on the golf course from previous takes. [It's a golf course- and golf carts would have made those tracks.]

In the movie, when they get the new Minis, only one of them is a Mini Cooper S. After Wrench is done with them however, they are all Sses. Surely Wrench couldn't have gotten the exact Mini Cooper S parts, and wouldn't he have to change some of the decals, the S has some "S" only decals. [They are not all Cooper S models, its just the body kit from the Cooper S is used on the two standard Coopers and also here in the UK you can fit microchips that will raise the power of a standard MINI Cooper to that of a Cooper S. Another easy way to distinguish the two models is that the Cooper S has a large air intake on the hood for the supercharger. The Cooper lacks a supercharger and so also lacks the air intake.]

There is a scene where the gang is in the warehouse and everyone is just working while Wrench fixes the minis. Stella is wearing a white tank with her hair down. After he's finished, he shows Charlie and they go for a drive. Stella is now wearing a dark jacket and her hair is up. Then it goes to Steve's scene where he kills Yevhen and stuff. Then it's back to the gang in the warehouse and Stella (and the rest of the gang) are back in their original clothes, Stella in the white tank with her hair down. It's obvious that the garage scene was filmed in one go and split, despite a couple of scenes between. [It is possible that Stella put on a jacket and pulled up her hair to go for a drive.]

As an amateur radio operator I know that it's nearly impossible to have a clear radio reception under water and underground - at least with such small portable gear that the gang wears and uses to communicate all the time. [I teach scuba diving and have done many underwater audio/technology dives and can easily hear people especially in full face masks (they look like agar masks, could be mistaken though). These types of masks have a built in communicator that is obviously designed for underwater. You can assume that they are using these communicators and not their earpieces.]

In the scene where Stella and Steve go on the date, the water/wine bottle on the table is about half full. They talk for a few minutes and Steve discovers that Stella is John's daughter. She pushes the bottle over (presumably as a sign to the other guys) and the bottle is now empty. [The water bottle is actually about 25% full. As Stella is saying the line about the devil inside, you hear her pouring water into her glass (there is no other bottle on the table so it has to be the bottle of water). When she knocks over the bottle (as a sign), you can see some of the water left in the bottle slosh around inside.]

When the gang cuts off Steve's cable, he calls the cable company and is told that someone will be available later in the week between 10 and 3. The gang then calls him back to let him know that someone will be there that day. Wouldn't his suspicions be raised just a little when the real cable repairman comes? Nobody called to cancel the original service request. Rather sloppy for a group of professional thieves, I'd say. [I am sure that the gang would have simply called the cable repair company and cancelled the real repair order - no reason to show that in the film.]

During the escape at the end of the movie, when the Minis come out of the pipe and drop down into the basin of the LA River they fall nose first into the pavement. However, with approximately 9 million dollars worth of gold in the trunks of the cars, they would be back heavy, not front heavy, and fall more evenly or even back first. It's been suggested that Wrench could have put a ton of weight up front to balance the cars properly, but the amount of gold carried in those special boxes loaded into the back end of the very short wheelbase Minis could not be balanced even by the legendary Wrench without severely re-engineering the vehicle. If that was possible, the handling of the unladen Mini would be woeful, and the chase scene BEFORE the subway gold heist would be impossible. The Minis would have fallen like bricks nose-first onto the subway track when jumping from the platform. [I have spoken with an expert in vehicle dynamics and physics, and he said that the falling of the vehicles is absolutely correct. He has seen the movie and finds nothing wrong with the scene. The front of the car starts falling first, and therefore will land first. The cars would have to fall a much greater distance for the weight to take over and cause the back of the car to drop and hit first - it would have to have fallen perhaps as much as 25-30 feet. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but in reality it was real as presented.]

The first shot of the scene in the mountains after they've stolen the gold you can see a sign that says 'Austria' to mention that they are in that country. As they speak German in Austria the sign would rather be 'Österreich'. [But they are in Italy, and in Italy, Austria (Österreich) is also called: Austria, so the sign is correct, because it is written in Italian.]
