It might just be me but I think Drix looks a lot like Ironman from marvel comics. They are both red and yellow, have the logo in the same location and have the gun on the same arm.

Thrax is like Morpheous from the Matrix trilogy. His black coat, black glasses and he is even voiced by Laurence Fishburne. In his end fight with Osmosis there is a very clear Matrix reference (the bullettime effect).
