Factual error: In the hotel room scene Sheen's character and the reporter are in the room in Virginia beach, VA, there are ships in sight out the window. The Naval base in located at NOB Norfolk, 20 to 25 miles from the oceanfront.

Factual error: When the seal team was in the Middle East kidnapping the guy for information, right before Graham was killed someone called Hawkins by his name over the radio not his code name. If the radio was being monitored that would give away the identity of one of the team members that is why they use code names.

Continuity: When the 3 seals are driving to a wedding, Hawkins jumps off the bridge from the jeep, and when James Curran backs up, Chief Graham has his hand on the steel frame of the Jeep. In the following shot he is just looking down over the bridge with no hand on the steel frame of the jeep, then in the next shot it's back on the steel frame.

Revealing: When we see the navy seals burst into the factory to rescue the pilots, several of the bad guys get shot. On one of the bad guy's feet who falls back onto a table, there is a rope attached to his foot obviously so he wouldn't fall to far, or not to hurt himself or something.

Revealing: When James and the other two seals come out of the building where the missiles were, James gets shot in the leg and he shoots back at the guy. The squibs or blood packs in the bad guys chest area are visible, because there is a large bump in his t-shirt where the devices are.

Continuity: At the end of the film, when Hawkins is pinned down, Ramos gets on the "50" and shoots at the bad guys, making two small holes at the left side of the very large hole. In the following shot he is making the two small holes again because as we can see in this shot there are no holes at the left side of the large hole.

Continuity: When the team was trying to get out of Beirut and the green car that they were in flips over. The first time you see Hawkins starting to crawl out he has blood on his neck the camera cuts away then the next time you see him the blood is gone.

Continuity: When the navy seals are at the extraction point at the end of the pilot rescue scene, one of the navy seals runs across to set a perimeter but gets shot, another one goes after him to pull him to safety. As the navy seal runs to help out his friend, there is a wall or something of sandbags, yet in the following shot the sandbags are no longer there and it is now some type of small vehicle with small wheels, a few sandbags on the back of it, and some other equipment.

Continuity: When the team of navy seals are on the golf coarse, Hawkins spots his car being towed away, and when he chucks his golf club at it there are no bikes through the gate and only a car. In the following shot there is no car only a tree and bushes, then in the next shot the car is there again as well as some bikes that Hawkins grabs and takes off on.

Revealing: When Hawkins shoots the hinges off of a door in the factory near the beginning, the camera cuts to inside the room, and its obviously been pre cut to smash so that the actors can easily go through the door with little or no effort. If you slow it down there are several pieces already missing from the door and the door just seems to soft. Hawkins only blew the hinges off the door, not blew a load of holes in it.

Continuity: In most instances where the Team Leader is shown close-up driving his jeep, you'll see him working the steering wheel like some 50's movie. But the full-shot views will show him with no free-play on the steering wheel.

Revealing: When the team of navy seals kidnap an Islamic guy/leader, just after Hawkins walks down the side of the building to help out Graham with the bad guys, the bad guys shoot at the wall. But the holes are already there in the wall behind Graham. Use slow motion or frame by frame.

Continuity: When the navy seals are having a drink to Graham and watching him on the TV, just after Hawkins kisses the guy we see James and he has his two hands on the bar, with two Budweiser bottles and another bottle in front of him. In the following shot the bottles that were in front of him are gone and James has only got one hand one the bar and is holding a Budweiser bottle at hip height with the other hand.

Continuity: When the navy seals team are outside the warehouse where the bad guys were keeping the pilots, "God" (Bill Paxton) shoots two bad guys through the wall. The bullets make two large holes in the wall which are seen, yet when the navy seals hide in another room note the holes in the wall. The one on the left is now much bigger because it took out the top of the wall as well, yet all we saw in the previous shot was a hole in the centre of the wall not right out the top.

Continuity: After they have taken the pilots out of the room that the bad guys were holding them in, they are somewhat ambushed outside, and there is a white like van parked up. On the back of the van there is only one window that stretches right across the back of it, yet when Hawkins dives for cover behind it, its changed design from having one window to having two.

Factual error: Hawkins pursues the flatbed tow truck that has towed away his car. He climbs aboard and uses the controls to tilt the bed and tip his car onto the road, then drives it off. He missed an important step; vehicles on a flatbed are chained down fore-and-aft for security, and at no time did we see him release the chains.

Factual error: When the SEALs blow up a small boat near the end of the film, the explosive power of the hand grenade is extremely exaggerated. A SEAL tosses an anti-personel grenade into the boat, which then explodes into a fireball. This type of grenade spews shrapnel, but does not explode with the power shown. If the big explosion were the boat's fuel tank there would be two explosions. First a small explosion(the grenade) then a larger secondary explosion(the fuel), not just one gigantic fireball.

Continuity: At the beginning of the movie when the 3 navy seals are on the way to the church, Charlie Sheen decides to jump off a bridge, but if you notice, the road changes from a concrete road to a steel road in just 2 seconds.

Factual error: Enlisted Navy personnel wear the collar of their Service Dress Blue jumper inside of their all weather coat. It is not the case in Chief's funeral scene.

Factual error: When "God" has his .50 calibre sniper rifle with an "infrared sight" mounted on it he is able to see the bad guys through a brick wall? The thermal images of the bad guys would be blocked by the walls, which would show as a cooler hue. Secondarily, such a colored thermal imaging system is not available for such a weapon. A standard infrared sight would be gray-scale in perspective.
