When Cyclops and Storm are in the train station, Storm is held up by Sabretooth, Cyclops spots this and starts to walk over to help. He stretches his arms out between a lot of people to push two people out the way, yet when the shot changes to Toad's POV all the people around him are at least two to three feet away from him. Entry When Magneto has kidnapped Rogue, she asks him if he is going to kill her to which he answers "Yes". I don't understand - Magneto wants to use Rogue as a vessel to transfer all his power into, not kill her. [As we saw earlier when Magneto used the machine on Senator Kelly, it severely drained his strength and had nearly died. Using the machine on the much grander scale on Ellis Island would certainly kill the person at the controls which is why Magneto needed someone to do it for him. Rogue would have been killed had Wolverine, Storm, Jean & Cyclops not rescued her at the last minute.]
Entry Is the rivalry between Cyclops and Wolverine present in the comics, or is it made-up by the screenwriters? [It's there in the comics, although it's largely been replaced with a mutual respect after working together for as long as they have in the comic stories.]
Entry Something I never completely understood about the ending. When we see senator Kelly on the TV at the end, we realize that it is actually mystique in disguise. But when the X-men told magneto that Kelly was dead.he didn't believe them. And since Kelly vaporized into water, there would be no body or any proof that he was dead. So wasn't mystique worried that she might come into contact with the real Kelly at some point? [You are working under the assumption that Mystique would not believe this either. However, with Magneto in prison and no sign of the senator she could happily take on his identity. Also, even if Kelly was alive, after she gave a press statement backing mutants, it would be unlikely that a polotician would change his mind so suddenly again and he would therefore not come clean that it was not him.]
Entry Does Magneto understand that his special radiation machine kills normal humans or not? He ignores Storm when she tells him she saw Sen. Kelly die. Is his plan to make the world leaders mutants so they'll become sympathetic to the mutant cause, or is it to just kill everybody? [No, he doesn't realise that it ultimately kills them. His entire aim is to turn the world's leaders into mutants, thus getting them onto his side. If he killed them, he'd simply put new leaders into office who now had even more of a reason to hate mutants, which really isn't going to help matters. When Storm tells him that Kelly died, he simply asks her if she really saw what she thinks she saw - a certain degree of denial, but one that's understandable. After all, he wouldn't want to think that all his planning was for naught.]
Entry A woman named Hannah Groves is credited in the movie as Rita, but I don't remember anyone named Rita in the movie. Can someone tell me who she is? [Somewhat confused by this, as a check down the cast listings for X-Men, X-Men 1.5 (the extended version) and X2 (just in case) has failed to show any credit for either an actress or character with those names. Nor is there a Hannah Groves listed on the IMDb. Your information may simply be wrong.]
Entry Since Cyclops' optic blast is on 24/7, how can he see anything? [It seems that it is a very long, drawn out answer that can be found here: http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/c/cyclops.htm.]
Entry In the scene where Bobby and Rogue meet in the classroom, what subject was Storm teaching? [The blackboard has "THE ROMAN EMPIRE" written at the top, so presumably it was a history class.]
Entry How can Sabertooth take so much damage from Wolverine and still be fighting fit throughout their confrontation? He takes at least two deep stabs in the chest from Wolverine yet seems almost totally unaffected. Can Sabertooth regenerate like Wolverine? [Yes, Sabertooth regenerates like Wolverine. In the comics, he has at times been presented as Logan's father, although at other times other writers have disagreed.]
Entry Why do Wolverine's previously healed wounds open again after he 'lends' his power to Rouge to save her life, and why don't all the injuries he has sustained throughout his life open up again? [These are the wounds that he's sustained during his fight with Sabretooth - while his healing power has closed them up, they're not fully healed yet. As such, when the power goes to Rogue, they're able to open back up. Earlier wounds have had the time to completely heal, so they don't reappear.]
Entry Is there anywhere on the internet where I can listen to the song playing over the scene towards the end when Wolverine gives his powers to Rogue after rescuing her from Magneto's machine? [The song's name is "Logan and Rogue" and it's by Michael Kamen. Dunno where you can get it on the 'net, though. Some P2P network might help you.]
Entry How is that powerful telepath Professor Xavier can use Cerebro to find mutants on the other side of the world, yet he does not pick up on Mystique running all over his house in some guise or another? Or Jean Grey, for that matter? Surely they would sense the foreign brainwaves. [It's hard to find something that you're not looking for. They weren't keeping an eye on the school grounds.]
Entry Excuse my ignorance, i never read the comics but I used to watch the cartoons when i was younger and I'm sure that Wolverine was with Storm and i don't remember him liking Jean Gray. What happens here? Did he like Jean then go on to Storm? [Wolverine always had a thing for Jean. They were together in the Age of Apocolypse series (alternate reality). He was also in love with her in the cartoon in the mid 1990's.]
Entry Does anyone actually know how old wolverine is? When Jean is telling the x-men after his physical, she mentions that he may actually be older than the professor. [According to the comics (which may differ from the films), Logan was born James Howlett, in the latter part of the 19th century, most likely around 1890.]
Entry Why does Rogue get that blonde-white streak in her hair at the end? I've never read the comic books, so if the answer's there, I wouldn't know. [It's from the stress of powering Magneto's device.]
Entry This goes for X-men 1 and 2, why are some of the characters, i.e Beast, Gambit, Spike not in the films? [The characters were chosen for popularity, practicality of costuming (Mystique is enough without doing Beast's blue fur as well), and contribution to the storyline, since there were simply too many X-Men to include them all. Also, it leaves characters for sequels (like Nightcrawler).]
Entry This is a question for both X-1 and X-2. Is the actor that plays Mystique wearing a body suit for her blue makeup? In several scenes in both movies it looks like she is practically naked with just blue painting. [In almost all cases, yes, she's naked, but for a few strategically placed prosthetics.]
Entry Im confused. I know Magneto isn't psychic and he doesn't have cerebro so how does know where Rogue is, or who she is to send Sabertooth to get her? How does he know when exactly to send Mystique to the school to tell Rogue to leave? How would he know what's going on? [There were news reports about Rogue's experience with her boyfriend. Magneto was pursuing her during her journey to Canada. Mystique was at the school off and on for quite a while to spy on the X-Men.]
Entry The credits list a person called "contender". Who was that? [That would be the person in the fight near the beginning, who says he'll fight Wolverine after the ring announcer asks if anyone is willing to fight).]
