What about Bob? (1991) - 9 mistakes
Directed by Frank Oz, starring Bill Murray, Richard Dreyfuss (add more)
Genres: Comedy
Continuity: When Bob is in the coffee shop waiting on the call from Dr. Marvin he chases an older man away from the phone. The rope for the fish jar hanging around his neck is twisted around once or twice. The camera cuts away from him then back to him and then the rope is twisted around seven or eight times.
Revealing: When Dr. Marvin is choking on his food Bob gives him the Heimlich maneuver. He then puts Dr. Marvin on the couch and jumps down on him. Dr. Marvin expels the food just before Bob knees him the third time. This is best viewed in slow-motion. We are lead to believe that the third knee drop caused the food to be dislodged when actually the food is spit out just a split second prior to Bob landing the knee drop.
Factual error: When Leo is "choking," he's coughing and making a lot of yelling and groaning noises. Obviously this means that air is getting to and from his lungs. But the family freaks out, Bob does the Heimlich maneuver, and afterwards the family congratulates Bob for "saving" Leo. The doctor's surely well-educated family should have known that he wasn't in any real danger. (Not to say they wouldn't be concerned, but Bob seems to be doing more damage that what Leo is choking on.)
