Entry The voice of the Evil Emperor Zurg is none other than Director/Screenwriter of Disney's Pixar films Andrew Stanton who is always given a voice part in every computer animated movie.
Entry When you see Zurg at Al's Toy Barn it says "Zurg Vision" on the back of his head above the little screen. And at the beginning of the movie during the video game, the screen that Zurg watches Buzz on says "Zurg Vision" too.
Entry When we first meet Mrs. Potato Head, if you pause the movie, you can see that she's reading "A Bug's Life".
Entry There are a two references to the first Toy Story movie: 1.The aliens who says "Strangers. From the outside. Ooooh." 2.When Woody is holding on to the luggage tag at the end.
Entry When Jesse sings the song "When somebody loved me", she and Emily are shown swinging in a tree. This is the same tree as in "A Bug's Life".
Entry The exact same "EGGMAN MOVERS" truck used at the end of the first movie can be seen on the road the toys try to cross.
Entry Tour Guide Barbie's comment about short sighted toy retailers not producing enough Buzz Lightyears in 1995 is a dig at real life toy producers who underestimated the popularity of the first movie.
Entry On the Al's Toy Barn TV ad, when all the specials are shown from out of the egg, you see the exact same ball as in the hopping lamp film at the beginning.
Entry The dust in the scene where Woody meets Wheezy set a record for number of particles animated for a movie by computer.
Entry Along with the bouncing ball from Tin Lamp short, The Al's Toy Barn ad also features the grey teddy bear from the original Toy Story (in the beginning when Woody is doing a sound check, there is a shot where the bear is waving high on a shelf).
Entry When Etch copies the map off the TV and Buzz points to "Al's Toy Barn" and says "That's where I need to go.", the address listed beside "Al's Toy Barn" is also Pixar's address in California.
Entry When Hamm's flicking through the TV Channels The Pixar Film Tin Toy can be seen on one of the channels.
Entry Just after Buzz, Potato Head, and the others enter Al's Toy Barn (before they get hold of a car or split up), if you look in the background, you can see a rack of toys from "A Bug's Life".
Entry In the scene where Potato Head is driving the toy car down the aisles of the Toy Barn (after Buzz and the gang split up) and Rex suddenly places the Buzz Lightyear strategy guide in front of his face, if you pause you can see the price for the guide: $15.00 U.S., $50.00 CAN. A little joke on the money exchange between the two countries.
Entry The toy cleaner who comes to repair Woody is the chess player in the preview show on A Bug's Life - in this film he opens a drawer containing chess pieces.
Entry When you see the stars in the opening sequence you can make out a group of stars in the shape of the Pixar lamp.
Entry At the beginning of the film, when Buzz is battling his way into Zurg's fortress, he has to jump onto several floating discs to get to the (battery) power source. He jumps onto five discs before they collapse under him; each plays a note, the first five notes of the theme from "2001: A Space Oddysey".
Entry On the ground of the planted area the toys walk through before they cross the highway is a rusty tin can. This can was the bug bar in A Bug's Life.
Entry When Hamm is flipping through the channels, you can see a portion of 'Luxo Jr', a short film from Pixar, featuring  the Pixar Lamp.
Entry Various movie references. The line from Empire Strikes Back - "I am your father". Also, the automobile three-point turn when the toys are in Al's Toy Barn, coming from Austin Powers. Not to mention the Jurassic Park shot of a T-Rex chasing a car viewed from the side mirror. A tribute to Mission Impossible when the slinky dog reaches in to try to open the case containing Woody. The opening seemed like a tribute to Starship Troopers - voyage, landing, survey, and sudden surrounding by aliens. The eye-on-a-stalk that followed soon after resembled the scene at the entrance of Jabba the Hutt's palace. Stinky Pete says a very familiar line - "Turn me around, so I can see", said by C3PO when he's in bits on Chewie's back. Yet another Star Wars tribute, the aliens tell Buzz to use the staff of power, referring to the gear shaft, much like "Use The Force, Luke." Buzz's breathing in his suit at the beginning in like Darth Vader. When they are about to cross the street the slinky dog says "I'm not a smart dog, but I know what Roadkill is" which is from Forrest Gump when he says "I'm not a smart man but I know what love is". The eye on the stalk before Buzz goes into Zurg's base is a reference to HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Mr. Potato Head throwing his hat like Odd Job from Goldfinger. The Prospector being scared by flashbulbs was from the Hitchcock film Rear Window. Doesn't the feather falling in front of Buzz when he falls off the back of the car kidnapping Woody bring to mind "Forest Gump"?
