Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

Entry When Shrek and Fiona are walking back to the castle, they both blow up the skins of animals like balloons. If they blew them up with air from their lungs, why do the balloons float up to the sky? [You cannot honestly expect to introduce factual errors into an fictional ANIMATED story that deals with green ogres and talking donkeys.]
Entry When Shrek is eating his bowl of eyes,if you go into frame by frame, you can see that the eye Shrek eats passes through his upper lip. [The rules of this site are quite clear - if you have to use freeze frame to spot an error, it is not valid.]
Entry Sunglasses magically appear on Donkey in the last shot of the movie. [We don't see him right away before we see him with sunglasses, we see him about 8 seconds later, he has time to put glasses on.]
Entry Shrek and Donkey could not have made jokes about Lord Farquaad's height since they never saw him anywhere before except on a balcony. Shrek has never heard of him before, so cannot have known. (The producers acknowledge this oversight in the DVD commentary.) [This has been acknowledged several times, there is a deleted scene in which the 3 of them have a discussion regarding the swamp, the scene was taken out but we can assume that they still have met, we just weren't shown this.]
Entry After the dragon has flown through the window in the wedding scene, Donkey is on the dragon's head. When the dragon smashes the last window just after the kiss, Donkey has disappeared, but he is back on the dragon's head when he says "I was hoping this would be a happy ending!" [This is not true. Donkey is right there on her head.]
Entry When the dragon shows its mouth (like when it roars), it has no lipstick. When she falls in love with donkey, her lipstick is suddenly there. [Many animals undergo a drastic change in appearance as a form of mating display. We see this in fish, insects, birds and mammals. Evidently this phenomenon holds true for dragons, too.]
Entry The mice, particularly for BLIND mice, get up the table much too quickly. You see their shadow from the floor and then a second later they're all on top of the tables having a conversation. [Ever try to catch a mouse? They move FAST. Mice don't use sight at their primary sense - they are largely nocturnal - so being blind would hardly be a handicap. They use their sense of smell, like most rodents.]
Entry Lord Farquaad has red gloves on after first meeting Fiona. But when he rides off again, he's not wearing them. [Just before the knight takes Farquaad off his horse, he pulls of his iron gloves, which are on over the red gloves. These iron gloves stay on the horse, and when he rides off again, Farquaad puts his hands in the iron gloves again, thus covering the red ones. ]
Entry When Donkey first meets Shrek, he calls him a "mean green fighting machine". How would he know Shrek is green? We later find out he is colour blind. [Donkey knows that ogres are green.]
Entry The door on Shrek's outhouse seems to have a problem. In the very beginning of the movie when Shrek comes out of the outhouse, the door stays wide open, like it's just a normal hinged door. But later when he comes out while talking to donkey, the door quickly snaps shut like it has one of those door closing mechanisms on it. [We know that Shrek was improving the swamp in the beginning of the movie, such as the new sign he installed. Its not unreasonable that he upgraded the door on his outhouse, since a door that never closed would let more unpleasant odors (perhaps even to an Ogre) out.]
Entry When Donkey and Shrek and camping and looking at the stars, there is one shot of Fiona in her cave- and her skin is human color. But later on we find out that Fiona changes into an ogre every time the sun goes down. So why isn't her skin green, like an ogre's? [Fiona is so deeply in the shadows that you cannot tell the exact color of her skin.]
Entry In the beginning of the movie, Shrek's table is shown with one chair. When Fiona leaves to marry Farquad, there are two chairs during the music. [Near the beginning of the movie, Shrek sits down to eat. He takes a sip from his home-made martini glass and then the camera pans back to show him tucking in to his meal. There are two chairs at the table, one at either end. The scene stresses the point that Shrek is eating alone.]
Entry It's just impossible for chandelier to slip onto dragoness' neck - her side triple "horns" (or whatever they are) would just stop it. [Actually if you view the scene frame by frame you can see that the horns (or the point their attached to) are flexible, so the chandelier pushes them inwards on impact. You can see it in the shot of Dragon's neck at the top of the picture. (Widescreen version).]
Entry When Farquad is getting information from Gingy, he plays with Gingy's feet. In one shot angled from behind Gingy, Farquad throws the feet at Gingy. In the next shot, a wide shot showing the table that Gingy is on as well as Farquad, there are no feet. There are no feet for the rest of the scene - they've disappeared. [If you watch, Farquad squashes at least one of his feet in his hand, letting the crumbs fall.]
Entry When Shrek and Donkey arrive at Dulloc and are about to see Farquaad for the first time, Shrek says something about Donkey being in the right way for a smacked bottom, that is a tribute to Austin Powers who is also played by Mike Myers. If any of you have seen the music video "Beautiful Stranger" by Madonna, Austin Powers says nearly at the end of it that Madonna is going the right way for a smacked bottom. [Actually the line about 'smack bottom' came from when Myers said this in frustration to one of the behind the scenes guys as he was recording his lines. He was getting annoyed at the directions that he was being given.]
Entry Isn't it odd how Fiona's green dress keeps fitting perfectly, despite the fact her body expands and shrinks everyday? [Not really - it's part of the magic of her changes.]
Entry When the chandelier falls over the dragon's head it slips on very easily, almost as though the dragon's body is greased. However, for that reason it should be easy enough to get off, so why didn't the dragon take it off to follow in pursuit of her beloved donkey? I mean, it was obvious that she was really in love with him. [This is because of the dragon's ears. The dragon's ears point back, not forward. Meaning they can be pushed down (by the chandelier) so something could slip over them and then be stuck.]
Entry When Donkey is outside Shrek's hut he is standing up looking throught the window which is head height, but when the shot is from inside the hut, Donkey has to jump up to look in. [He doesn't seem to jump - rather rise up from horizontal position he was sleeping in, to answer Shrek's "I've told you to sleep outside.".]
Entry When Shrek and Donkey are approaching Duloc, in its parking lot, a man in a Lord Farquad costume sees Shrek and is scared by him. The man runs through the waiting line barriers one at a time, but if you watch closely and count the number of times he turns a corner, he runs through many more turns than there are. Even if you don't count, you can see this from the overhead shots. [The man is in a blind panic. He thinks Shrek is going to grind his bones etc. He is running backwards and forwards aimlessly and happens to get through the ropes by trial and error.]
Entry When Shrek meets Donkey for the first time, we see Shrek from Donkey's view and it's in color, but later on in the film Donkey tells Shrek he's color blind. [We see Shrek from Donkey's point-of-view, not through Donkey's eyes.]
