Continuity: After he writes "Redrum" on the bathroom door, Danny walks over to Wendy as she sleeps and holding the lipstick puts his right hand on the corner of the nightstand. In the next shot his his elbow is now on the nightstand.

Continuity: As Jack starts to break down the front door of their apartment it's clear to see that the hallway behind him is blue, as it was when he walked through the door after looking for the old woman in room 237. Earlier in the movie as Wendy brought Jack his breakfast and also during Mr. Ullman's tour the hallways were purple.

Audio problem: Before Dick Hallorann yells, "Hellow," the sound of Jack limping is overdubbed 24 times, but if you look closely one is left out as it should be 25 times.

Continuity: When Jack goes into Mr. Ullman's office and breaks the radio, Mr. Ullman's nameplate is back on his desk. Earlier, Wendy went into the same office to call the forest rangers and the nameplate was missing.

Continuity: As Danny looks up at Wendy in the bathroom window we see the corner of the Overlook and some windows above his head. At first the upper window has two lights above it, then the next time we see it several shots later there's only one.

Deliberate "mistake": A green tennis ball comes rolling at Danny as he sits on the carpet playing with his toys. The ball wobbles slightly as it comes straight at him because they rolled it on the carpet's seam so it would end up in the right spot. If you look closely in the next shot the seam has moved and is now one foot to his right and no longer in front of him as it was before.

Continuity: After his nightmare, Jack says to Wendy, "I dreamed that I killed you and Danny" and the watch on her left hand is obscured by her sleeve. In the next shot her sleeve is pulled up on her forearm and the watch can be seen.

Continuity: Before Wendy goes through Jack's typewritten pages we see a close-up of the jar of pencils to the right of the box. She never touches them but when Jack walks up to the table all the pencils have been moved and the shorter ones are missing.

Continuity: Jack goes into Mr. Ullman's office to break the radio and the plants on the upper shelves to right and left of the office have been removed while all the other plants in the hotel have remained since closing day.

Visible crew/equipment: An equipment shadow can be seen on Jack's face as he chases Danny through the hedge maze at the end of the movie.

Visible crew/equipment: Jack follows Wendy around The Colorado Lounge. He passes the desk on his right and says, "I don't think that's true" and an equipment shadow can be seen moving on the box with his typewritten sheets in it. It can't be his shadow because the windows are not between him and the desk.

Visible crew/equipment: After Wendy hits Jack with the bat and he falls down the steps, you can see it is actually a stunt double who has a different hairline than Jack.

Continuity: Wendy drags Jack on the floor to the storeroom and we see four knives in their holder. Later Wendy grabs one of these and the order of the knives in the holder is different.

Continuity: In the bathroom of room 237 the woman pulls the shower curtain to the left as she gets out of the tub. She doesn't touch it again but if you look at the bottom left it's rearranged between shots as she and Jack embrace.

Continuity: After Danny walks into The Colorado Lounge Wendy hugs him as Jack sits and watches from behind the desk. If you look at the box of paper on his left it's entirely different than what we saw there a few shots before as Wendy ran to him. At first the box was full but now it has half as many sheets, it's in a different position, and it only has three sides.

Continuity: As Jack walks away from room 237 we see the maid's cart at the far end of the hall and the towel draped over it hangs distinctly to the right. There's absolutely no evidence that Wendy was doing maid service in the empty hotel but when we saw this cart before as Danny walked up to room 237 the towel was hanging straight down.

Continuity: As Jack sits down at The Gold Room bar no one is standing or walking near him. But in the next shot after Lloyd says, "it's good to see ya" several actors appear walking behind him.

Continuity: The clock on the kitchen wall has moved. When we see it early in the movie during Dick Hallorann's tour the clock is right up against the power line to its right, but now we see it again after Wendy locks Jack the storeroom and it's been moved several inches higher and several inches to the left of the power line.

Continuity: After coming back from room 237 Jack sits Wendy down on the bed and there's a pack of cigarettes on the right of the ashtray on the night table. No one goes near it but later the pack of cigarettes is gone.

Continuity: After Danny writes "Redrum" on the bathroom door there's a green toy tank on top of a book underneath Wendy's lamp. In the next shot the tank doesn't move but the book underneath it does.
